Description

These Halloween Oreo brownies are the sweetest way to bring spooky fun to your dessert table! This Oreo brownie recipe has layers of rich, fudgy brownies with Halloween Oreo cookies baked in the center for a surprise crunch in every bite. They’re simple, festive, and guaranteed to disappear fast—making them the perfect Halloween treat to share.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 Box Brownie Mix (see notes)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (melted)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 20 Halloween Oreos

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Start by preheating the oven to 350°F. Prepare a parchment lined 8×8 inch square pan with baking spray or a homemade pan release. Let the parchment hang over the edges—instant handles
  2. Melt Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the butter at 15-30 second intervals until completely melted. Set aside
  3. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the brownie mix, egg, egg yolk, melted butter, and water. Stir until the batter is almost combined—don’t overmix

  4. Chocolate Chips: Add the chocolate chips to the brownie batter and gently fold them in with a spatula until evenly distributed.

  5. Layering: Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan. Arrange the Halloween Oreos in a single layer over the batter. Carefully spread the remaining brownie batter over the Oreos, making sure they’re fully covered

  6. Oreo Topping: Arrange whole and halved Oreos on top of the batter, pressing them in slightly for decoration.

  7. Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with just a few moist crumbs. We don’t want a completely clean toothpick, we want these fudgy!

Notes

Brownie Mix: My favorite brownie mix is Duncan Hines-Dark Chocolate Fudge (18.2 oz).
